I was sitting under a tree the other day and coincidentally, it was an apple tree. You may be thinking that I am comparing myself with Newton. But no, not for a second. I can’t even think of spoiling lives of so many students all around the world, trying to understand my laws. But yes, I was continuously looking up hoping that one apple will fall down on my head and I, like Newton will also understand the science behind the pull, the force that attracts two sapiens. And you know what; I hate that tree and the apple because they didn't help me. I tried researching about the cause, read so many books and got nothing. All of them say, - ‘It happens, it just happens’, ‘It is just like a miracle’ and many more such statements. But is it so? I know many of you may agree with Shakespeare, Barlow, John Gray or Chetan Bhagat. I do believe that ‘It just happens’. All of them talk about the magic it does. I don’t know, because I have strong disagreement with their thesis and so, I have my own.
Love is not that I just saw a girl and fell madly in love with her. If that was the case, why all love marriages aren’t successful in India? Love is a perfume due to its substantive essence, not because these days it vaporises with time. Yes, Newton’s third law is applicable for a couple ‘madly in love’ but then why is this law not universal? Why the youth today, thinks that as soon as they are 18, the phenomena called infatuation gets transmuted into love?
‘I saw that girl today, she is so amazing. I am just in love with her, and I can die for her’. Give me a break. You are an 18 year old guy and you are talking about dying? And after some time you are going to say the same thing for some ‘other girl’. Then how come that was love? What are the remains and values of our words? Why our generation, which is so competitive and potentially talented getting tapered?
I am not Newton to define my laws; neither in the field of physics nor in the field of love because I won’t die for anyone. I believe in living for ‘her’, ‘me ‘and for everyone who loves me; truly, madly and deeply! I don’t understand love from the eyes of Romeo. Isn’t love just understanding the other person? Isn't it just a feeling of security when you express your thoughts? It is a sword to kill your loneliness and not just a commodity to fill the vacancy. It is that cute feeling of a small child, asking god so many tiny wishes. It is the satisfaction we get when we sleep in our mother’s lap. It is like the feeling we get when we are on the last page and about to finish the syllabus for any exam. It is like the feeling of belongingness to life. It is when one chooses ‘Taylor Swift’ over ‘Linkin Park’. Love is the amusement and the beauty of the only yellow flower on a cactus plant. Love is the smell of newly cultivated paddy. Love is nothing but the feeling of happiness when she rolls her finger on your palm. Love can be defined most correctly by only one word, ‘LOVE’.
But it definitely is amazing, only for those who don’t know how to play! It is not your reputation; it is not the tool for polishing your record. The only idea I have here is why we can’t keep things simple? Why we have to seek commitment before even understanding its definition? And then things end up you being an ATHEIST. And then you wish GOD to answer your stupendous silly questions? It is so hilarious sometimes. It’s like the same situation when we know the answer but we don’t write it because it looks like out of course and we expect bonus out of it.
Why can’t we just let the love embellish itself with time? Why can’t we allow love to take decisions about its existence? Why being together is the reason for love instead of love being the reason of your being together? Why love is conditional today with tough materialistic properties rather than being an unconditional friendship!
Everyone has the answers of all these situations but still, many of us sit under an imaginary apple tree for an apple to fall and explain to us the GRAVITY of Love. As I already said, none us can be Newton but still we can all deduce the law behind ‘Gravity of LOVE’ without any significant ‘APPLE’!
