C.H.A.N.G.E. CAN WE ?| English Article| JP Nimodia

We usually have different point of views of Indian Govt.(To be precise specially  about the politicians). We think they are corrupt, they are not utilizing their power in the right manner, they are taking out funds for themselves out of the tax and not for the development of the country and many more. We all do this chit-chat sitting out at the street corner in a coffee shop or either in our houses after dinner. We all have bright views, ideas and many drafts. But have we ever tried to implement any of those in spite of sitting and chit chatting about it?

There is a lot for which we blame the Govt. for their wrong doings but have we ever given a thought process over the fact that we also fall under the same category of theirs. Why do we say so? Because have we ever done something that we say? Have we ever taken a step in the above context? Haven’t we tried to pay a little extra for getting something early in a queue? Haven’t we wasted a lot of time talking about it? Have we ever used our rights ever since we have read about it in the civics books at the school age? Have we ever filed a case against any of the soft drink vendors for charging Rs 2/- extra for no reason? I guess NO.

No we are actually not even try to do what we should do at our level. We think we don’t have powers. But we are not utilizing at least whatever power we have, not utilizing the rights that we have been given. I think if we all start using our right and power as per the policies made by the higher heads, a day will soon come when the policy makers will feel the back firing of their own policies upon them. Actually what happens in the real India the policy makers know that more than half of Indians are residing in the rural regions and those will never come up against them. And thus we can see they are using it as a back bone of their ever expanding Swiss Bank accounts.

One of the facts proving the above paragraph is what I would like to share. I faced this once when I went to an area really affected and in deep need of assistance. I offered them help saying that we would like to take your community standards up by implementing our ideas and funds. But I was taken back when they said that they are used to their lives and don’t want any help. They were satisfied with whatever they had. But then it was a “No Human” sense as I thought over it. Then I went over and over to convince them but then one day one of them finally said that it was not in an option to raise their standards of living. They would love to do so but they weren’t allowed. They said they were told not to take any help. Then the conclusion came out that it were the local authorities who took funds in their names from the Govt. And it was obvious that if their standards came up they would stop getting funds.

Hence we can see why and how poverty exists? I think we need to take a step. In short its up to us how we go about it?
